Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, MN recently ordered a MILabs U-SPECT-II/CT to enhance and expand their current small animal molecular imaging capabilities. The Mayo Clinic has utilized both microSPECT and microPET in their molecular imaging research programs for several years. They selected the U-SPECT-II/CT system to update their SPECT imaging technologies because of the ultra-high resolution and high sensitivity performance of the system as confirmed by extensive phantom experiments performed on the system.
At the Mayo Clinic, the U-SPECT-II/CT will be utilized by several investigators, including Val Lowe, MD and Stephanie Carlson, MD who intend to use the system to expand their research programs dealing with molecular imaging of infection, early detection of cancer and novel therapy applications.
