Imaging DNA damage

CT, PET, SPECT

Genomic instability, a characteristic of cancer cells, is often caused by DNA damage. The recognition and repair of such damage are achieved by finely tuned signaling pathways known as DNA damage repair pathways (DDR). Several proteins participate in these repair mechanisms and can act as biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and therapy evaluation. Here, Prof. Bart Cornelissen aims to develop novel imaging tools that will help earlier detection and potentially therapy of several types of cancer.

The talk took place at the EMIM 2022.
